Learn Chinese Tones

The tones of Chinese are the tricky parts of learning this language. Chinese has four basic tones. Different tones would indicate different meanings with the same character. While you start to learn Chinese Pinyin you should also learn Chinese Tones.

There are four basic tones and one “toneless” tone in Chinese. As a beginner, you don’t need to worry about the “toneless” tone. It’s rarely used.

This tone is falling. The voice falls from a high to a low pitch.

Don’t be discouraged with these Chinese tones. However, the good news is not every letter in Pinyin has tones. There are only six letters have tones.
