Chinese has been referred as one of the most difficult languages to learn. Learn how to write Chinese character is especially complicate and can be frustrating. This language includes many levels of complicate components in speaking and writing.

 

Writing Chinese applies many different strokes to form the character. To understand Chinese better, you must learn the pronunciations, strokes and tones for each word and there are thousands of them. There are many people who gave up learning Chinese because of it.

There are rules about the strokes directions, if the directions are wrong the characters you write will look strange. That is the art of this language. There are also two style of writing, you need to decide if you want to learn how to write Chinese with brushstrokes or pen. Nowadays, Chinese brushstrokes are more likely an art form. People don’t use them in communication writing any more. Most of time, people write with pen. In order to learn the basic characters and build up a solid foundation you have to practice them over and over.

  

Once you are familiar with the basic characters you can get a Chinese dictionary as your assistant. To have a Chinese dictionary is handy and can let your connect the characters and their meaning. From my experience of teaching, if students learn about 500 characters they will be able to develop some reading skills. If students learn about 800 of them, they are ready to move to the next level to learn grammars.

 

Good news for Chinese learners is that Chinese grammar is much easier than English grammar. There are not tense for verbs, the verbs remain same format in past, current and future. There are no singular and plural forms, the nouns remain same with any quantities. When you refer to past and future tense you just simply add one character before or after. Practice Chinese with repetition and use them frequently will improve your skills amazing. There are a lot of chances you can practice. It’s also very beneficial to have instructors or tutors to help you, especially when you have difficulties or questions.
