Learn Chinese From Movies (LCFM) is a new product launched recently. The moment
when I saw this product, something from the past had caught me – the time I was learning English. When I was
learning English seven years ago, I was kind of getting frustrated and bored with classes. Then my teacher who
is my good friend now from America told me to go home and watch English movies.
I bought a lot of movies and started to watch them. Few months later, by consistently watching and enjoy the
movie I was no longer frustrating with learning English and my English skills were dramatically improved. That's
probably why Learn Chinese From Movies had immediately caught my attention after it launched. Then I took a look
from the inside of the product. I hope you can find out useful info of this review of Learn Chinese From Movies.
Learn Chinese From Movies (LCFM) is designed for people to learn Chinese by watching movies.
You probably think it’s easy and just simply get any Chinese Movies you can start to learn Chinese. That’s not
true. If you just watch the regular Chinese movies from DVD, you can get subtitles in various language including
Chinese and English.
However, the problem is if you watch with Chinese subtitles you can only get Chinese subtitles. If you want to
see what it means in English, you have to switch into English subtitles. Any it’s definitely impossible to switch
back and forward the subtitles between the two languages. This is where LCFM step in with this method of learning
Chinese.

What made LCFM stand out with other Chinese movie DVDs is the “magic subtitles”. The product includes the movie
called “Spring in a Small Town” with a Chinese Language learning program based around it. The movie is referred as
“The Greatest Chinese Film Ever Made”.
What are those “magic subtitles”? With the LCFM, you can watch the movie with various subtitle choices. Let’s
take a look at the screen shot of the LCFM
Let’s take the subtitles down.
我得改变生活
Chinese Subtitle (1)
wǒ děi gǎibiàn shēng
huó
Pinyin Subtitle (2)
I need to-change life.
WFW Subtitle (3)
I need to change my life.
English Native Speaker Subtitle(4)
There are four kinds of subtitles: Chinese Character Subtitle, Pinyin Subtitle, WFW (Word-to-Word)
Subtitle and English Native Speaker Subtitle. The greatest parts I like are the
Pinyin Subtitles and WFW Subtitles. With the Pinyin Subtitles you can easily read each word as you are watching the
movie. And the WFW Subtitles can give you the direct translation to tell you the meaning of each word. It saves you
hours of time to check dictionary. These are something I have never seen in any other DVDs. This is something I
didn’t have when I was learning English by watching movies, if I could have something like this it could save me a
lot of time.
There is one more option that you can choose Simple Chinese Subtitles and Traditional Chinese Subtitles. Most of
the place in mainland of China is using simple Chinese, but Traditional Chinese is still used in Taiwan, Hong Kong
and Macau.
This product has two DVDs: one DVD includes the movie and all the subtitles. You can choose different subtitles
combination according to your need. Other DVD includes tons of study guides, tools, charts, transcripts and
bonuses. I had taken a look at those bonuses and I personally think these are great bonuses. With all the resource
from the second DVDs you will get:
- A transcript of
the entire dialog of the movie in all subtitles.
- A vocabulary list of every word used in the
movie presented by scene.
- Flashcards for all Chinese character from the
movie.
- A special video version of
the Movie with Magic subtitles that can be
played on cell phone, iPod.
- A 3 month study guide that lead you to learn how to read
most of Chinese characters.
- Secret Chinese character memorizing
method. Chinese characters are different with English vocabulary, you can’t remember them as
you do with English. This is a great method to remember Chinese characters, it make all the lines and strokes
meaningful and easy to memories.
- A Chinese dictionary software with over 80,000 words and
phrases which can be installed on any cell phone.
I personally think this is a great method to learn Chinese and any other languages. Learn Chinese From Movies (LCFM) is based on this method with very handy tools to make your
learning process faster and joyful. You won’t waste so much time as I did when I learned English. I strongly
suggest you to check this one out. This is a great program for people who want to learn Chinese in a casual way,
especially if you are not a classroom learner.
